I have been in the mood for a rich purple for a couple of weeks. I set this one out to paint my nails with a few weeks ago. I finally got around to putting it on now, though. It makes me extremely happy wearing this polish.
It is my understanding that Sexy Divide was first released several years back. It was part of the 2008 winter collection and then it was repromoted in the Dive Bar Collection most recently.
Sexy Divide is one of my favorite purples. It is a deep, rich purple with blue micro shimmers swimming through it. They're not glitter pieces, it is just flecks that are mixed into the pigment. It is a dark purple without being so dark that it looks black indoors. You can always tell that it is purple. Once in the sunlight, though, it is mesmerizing. This one maintains a high glossy finish as well.
Application was good. The polish didn't drag or pull while swiping on. The first coat can be somewhat patchy and sheer, however. Because of this, I am wearing two coats. Two layers was perfect to get a nice, opaque finish. I really don't think you need any more than that.
I am wearing one coat of Sally Hansen Hard as Nails, 2 coats of Sexy Divide, and one coat of Seche Vite.
