Tribal Mani

Last weekend I was out looking for some maxi dresses for the warmer weather.  I ended up buying one that has a lot of greens and blues on it in a tribal print. That dress inspired me to do a tribal print manicure.  I stuck with similar colors and used one of my Bundle Monster plates for the pattern.

1 coat of Sally Hansen Hard as Nails
2 coats of Essie Turquoise & Caicos
1 coat of Seche Vite
Sally Hansen Color Quick pen in Turquoise Chrome & image plate BM219 at the tips
Sally Hansen Color Quick pen in Green Chrome & image plate BM219 at the base
1 final coat of Seche Vite

The design is actually intended for a French tip.  I decided to continue to the design all the way down the nail, though, just in a different color.   Maybe it is just me, but if I didn't know that a French tip plate was used, I'd never guess that it was 2 combined.  With my nails being very short right now, the tip plates go nearly half way down my nail bed, which makes them even more perfect when I want to continue the pattern all the way down.

What are your thoughts/feelings on tribal designs (be it in clothes, shoes, nails, etc.)?  I wasn't sure how I felt about it at first, but at the very moment I'm really enjoying it.

  1. Reminds me of glass found at the pretty!..luv your stamping...

  2. Awesome! I love the green and aqua chromes over the turquoise. It's like a beachy tribal print, way cool!

I love to hear your thoughts and read every comment I receive. Let's get a conversation going here! If you would like me to check out your blog, I ask that you send me an email. (please refrain from link dropping-such comments may not be published)
