This was the manicure I put on immediately after removing my NYE manicure. I mentioned I have been craving pastel colors recently, so I went for one of my favorites: lavender. One of my favorites is Essie Lilacism. I have two bottles of this polish, but strangely one of them seems dustier than the other. hmmmm... odd. I picked the one that holds a cleaner color to it.
I was going to leave it a very simple, clean manicure. I have a hard time doing that, though. I remembered Amy (on luuux) sent me a lovely Milani 3D polish in a lighter purple shade, so I pulled it out to compare against Lilacism. I figured it was soft enough to work nicely together.
I started by using it as accent nails, but then felt that, for whatever reason, polkadots would be a fun whimsical little pattern to put them. I alternated the colors of the dots to be opposite the base shade.
WHAT I HAVE ON:
⋆1 coat Milani Smoothe Base Coat
⋆2 coats Essie Lilacism
⋆1 coat Milani Hi-Res on the ring fingers and thumbs
⋆On a larger dotting tool I dotted on the opposite color to all nails
⋆1 coat of Seche Vite
Some may say it isn't weather or season appropriate. For the most part I wear darks in the cooler months, softs in spring, and brights in summer. However, I've been REALLY wanting something to liven up my nails since I have been wearing dark, rich colors for a couple of months now.
LOVE IT!!!!
